to fall

There is such a thing as songs to fall to.

To fall, verb: to drop from a height. A step. A building. To fall, a gravitational pull, a breaking through air. A resistance? A letting go? A newfound consciousness of weight?

There are songs to fall to, to make the journey easier. Epic swells, surging symphonies, and now you’re not falling but flying, but floating, but dropping forever, bottomless, infinite.

There is such a thing as songs to fall to. But there is no such thing as songs for landing.
